Rob Lowman is a freelance cellist performing in and around Indiana and Illinois with session recording work for The Varsity Recording Co. and Orangehaus Studio (both in Anderson, IN), local orchestras, Christmas concerts, weddings and special events. Rob is also an established composer in both contemporary and traditional music for quartets, solo performances and scoring for short films.
Rob began the cello at the age of 4 and quickly excelled under some of the best teachers in the country. Rob completed the entire cello Suzuki Method books (1-10) by the age of 11 and has over 13 years of private teacher study. He was accepted in the best student classical studies programs in Chicago including the Music Institute of Chicago Academy, and the respected Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra program for chamber music. Throughout the years he has performed in various student orchestras: the Anderson University Orchestra (where he attended and was principal cellist all 4 years) and pit orchestras for musicals and operas, Wheaton Academy (in Illinois - principal cellist), and festival events, the International Suzuki Convention in Turin, Italy and the American Cello Congress in Tempe, Arizona. Rob graduated from Anderson University with a B.A. in Music Business.
