Instructor Feature: Jordan Koehlinger

Today we have the opportunity to share the fifth installment of our “Instructor Features” blog series! This week we have Jordan Koehlinger to celebrate. Jordan is an avid trumpeter, teacher, and musicology scholar with interests in a variety of musical styles from orchestral, to chamber, to jazz. With performing experience both in the United States and abroad, she has played with the Symphony of the Lakes in Warsaw, Indiana; served as auxiliary brass for Ernie Haase and the Signature Sound; and performed in the Opera Maya festival orchestra in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.

Instructor Feature: Marilyn Watkins

Today we have the opportunity to share the fourth installment of our “Instructor Features” blog series! This week we have Marilyn Watkins to celebrate. Marilyn Watkins is an experienced music teacher and violinist. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in music education from Ball State University. Her varied background includes orchestra director at Pike Township schools, music director of a church, and performances in college and community orchestras such as Muncie Symphony and Carmel Symphony.

Many of our instructors at Vibe go through significant twists and turns in life to get where they are today. Sometimes this means through intense personal challenges, or sometimes this means clarification in themselves as an artist and creative human. This week, one of our great instructors, Rob Lowman, wrote this piece on what some of his search in his musical identity looked like. Today we have the opportunity to share the third installment of our “Instructor Features” blog series! This week we have none other than Rob Lowman to celebrate. Rob is a freelance cellist performing in and around Indiana and Illinois with session recording work for The Varsity Recording Co. and Orangehaus Studio (both in Anderson, IN), local orchestras, Christmas concerts, weddings and special events. Rob is also an established composer in both contemporary and traditional music for quartets, solo performances and scoring for short films.
