In drum lessons, we focus on establishing great playing technique, developing your sense of time and rhythm, and learning everything from rock, jazz, and funk, to marching and orchestral percussion. Whether you're 5 or 55, brand new to the instrument or gigging professionally, our goal is to help you become not just someone who can play the drums, but a drummer.

John Gotsis, M.M.

John Gotsis has accumulated years of professional experience as a performer and music educator. Currently residing in Fishers, IN, John serves as Owner and Music Instructor at Vibe Music Academy, as well as Adjunct Professor of Percussion at his alma mater, Indiana Wesleyan University. John currently gigs with various jazz musicians in the area and is the drummer for the Indy-based folk rock group The Bikewalk.

After receiving a bachelor's degree in Music Education from IWU in 2012, John and his wife moved to Lansing, MI where he began teaching and working on his master's degree in Jazz Studies at Michigan State University. During his time in Michigan, John achieved a high level of success academically and professionally, where he earned the position of MSU Jazz Drum Set Graduate Assistant, played and toured with MSU's premier jazz orchestra, and gigged professionally for numerous performance groups. John has studied under and been personally mentored by Rodney Whitaker, Randy Gelispie, Etienne Charles, Diego Rivera, and Marc Wooldridge.


Billy Jones, B.S.

Billy Jones is an experienced multi instrumentalist from the Indianapolis area. He has over 20 years experience with electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar percussion, brass, as well as choral and solo vocals. His playing experience along with his studio and production experience gives him an unique point of view to approaching music in both an ensemble and lesson environment that is applied easily to real world situations.

A graduate of Ball State University, Billy spent time playing bass in the ensemble for the Ball State University singers. He was a part of the school’s Chamber and Concert Co-Ed choirs and the Statesmen Male Chorus. He was also a member of the Symphony and Concert bands as well as Ball State’s Pride of Mid-America Marching band, where he played tuba. After receiving his B.S. in Music, Media and Production from Ball State’'s School of Music, Billy has been actively involved in both Music Director, and instrumentalist roles for multiple churches across the Circle City. Billy has also recorded on sessions for artists such as Columbus, Indiana based duo "Here Together", which was tracked in Nashville TN at Gnome Studios. Billy is also a songwriter, electric guitarist and bassist in the Franklin, Indiana based CCM worship band, "Flight of the Fallen". They have opened for bands such as Kutless and Sanctus Real. Billy studied with Matthew Lyon, Mark Mordue, Michael Oravitz, Andrew Crow, and Derek Johnson during his time at Ball State.


Andrew McAfee, M.M.

Andrew McAfee is an active percussionist, composer, and educator. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Percussion Performance from California State University Long Beach where he studied with Dr. Michael Carney, Dr. Dave Gerhart, Raynor Carroll, and Brad Dutz; and a Master's Degree in Percussion from Indiana University where he studied with Michael Spiro, Steve Houghton, and Kevin Bobo.

Throughout his career, Andrew has performed both solo and ensemble music in numerous venues across the country, including the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles and Carnegie Hall in New York. His performance career started when he joined the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets as a snare drummer in 2003. During his membership, the corps won the Best Percussion Caption Award twice and the DCI Open Class World Championship in 2008. The following year, he had the honor of performing with the Pulse Percussion Ensemble in the 2009 WGI World Class Finals.

Andrew currently lives in Indianapolis, IN where he works as a freelance performer and educator.
