Jerri Williamson started playing piano at the age of 10, performing and competing throughout high school. She acquired classical studies at Butler University and Indiana University where she was a music education major. She has been teaching piano full-time for the past 21 years as well as performing as a vocalist and pianist at public and private venues. She is an accomplished accompanist and also plays at weddings. In addition to piano, she gives vocal instruction and was a member of the Indianapolis Symphony choir.
Jerri takes a very individualized and creative approach to teaching, tailoring her teaching method to each student. She intends for her students to be well rounded musicians focusing on technique, theory, musicality, ear training and sight reading. She delights in accepting nonconforming students and adults! She likes to give insight into composers’ backgrounds and their specific eras to enhance the student’s awareness of music history.
Most of all she wants her students to enjoy music and have fun!
