Piano has been the passion of Rhonda Blacklock since the age of 6, when she heard piano lessons through the open window of the neighborhood teacher. Rhonda began her musical journey at the age of 9, taking lessons with Angela Quillman. From there, flute and organ lessons soon became part of the journey. By the time she was 12, she was serving her home church as organist.
Rhonda received a Bachelor of Music from the American Conservatory of Music (Chicago, IL) and a Master of Music from Bradley University (Peoria, IL), both in piano performance. She studied flute with Janet Bergman and George Radosavljevich; organ studies were with Rev. Dr. Robert Schilling and Todd Wilson. Currently, Rhonda is the Director of Music at Christ Lutheran Church in Zionsville, where she directs the Sanctuary Choir, Celebration Bells and serves as organist.
In her personal life, Rhonda enjoys watching basketball (“Yes, ‘Cers!”), knitting, making jewelry and spending time with her family. Rounding out the family are the Blacklock’s spoiled Cavalier King Charles spaniels, Cricket and Cannon.
Rhonda enjoys teaching and has taught students of all ages throughout her career. She welcomes students of all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced, to her studio in either Lebanon or Zionsville.
