Sarah Whybrew began her musical journey at age five studying piano with her beloved grandmother. In middle school, she added the trumpet which led her to many rich musical experiences in high school, including musicals, marching band, jazz band, and teaching private lessons to beginners. All of these experiences, along with being raised by two music teachers, shaped her decision to pursue music and teaching at Butler University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education in 2004.

After college, Sarah taught music in the Tippecanoe School Corporation in Lafayette before beginning her stay-at-home mom journey with the birth of her first-born son in 2008. Since becoming a mom, Sarah has pursued her passion for teaching by homeschooling her four children (including a little piano through the years). Over the past 20+ years, Sarah has taught private lessons to students all across northern Indiana as her family relocated for her husband, Nathan’s work as a pastor in the United Methodist Church. The Whybrews recently moved to Westfield and Sarah is looking forward to encouraging young musicians in the greater Indianapolis area.

Outside of teaching, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, playing board games, and cheering on her kids at their sporting events. She loves a good walk, snuggling her two puppies, and a cup of hot tea. Given unlimited time and money, you’d find her at the beach with a good book!
